Little Heroes of Perth creates artwork to capture stories of superhuman strength in West Australian children.
We celebrate children who are suffering a serious or life-threatening illness or disability. Each family receives an original piece of art created especially for their little Hero, and their stories are shared so that the whole community can learn about the courage and resilience of these amazing kids.
Our aim is to bring joy to their families and inspiration to the community. It’s our vision to reach every single little hero in Perth.
By sharing their stories, we hope that others will be inspired to reveal their own superpowers!
When kids are sick, we’ll do anything to make them happy… It makes us re-evaluate everything in life. Things that you thought were important are not so important anymore.–Jane Hunt (mother of Thomas and Oli)
How it works
- We meet with little heroes and their families, listen to their stories and produce personalised artwork that celebrates their superpowers.
- Each family receives a framed, original piece of art.
- Their story is published on our website and shared via social media, so that the whole community can learn about the courage and resilience of these amazing kids.
We are planning to hold an exhibition featuring the artwork and stories, and will eventually produce a book. Prints are available for purchase from our Shop, and all proceeds support this and other Communified projects.
